Development of the Clarens Golf & Trout Estate, is in full swing with more than 80 % of the 250 plots already sold. Featuring an 18-hole golf course and access to 30 km of trout-fishing waters, Pinnacle Point Holdings' lifestyle development is set to become one of the focal points for golf tourism in the Free State.
Says George Page, Sales Manager of the Clarens Estate: Pinnacle Point Holdings is fully committed to creating an estate that is environmentally sensitive and will enhance the natural setting of mountains and streams. Many of the original holes on the golf course will be retained and upgraded, the existing dams enlarged and stocked with trout, while 300 trees have already been planted to retain a natural aesthetic. No residential units will be built directly on the course.”
According to Page, services are complete and building is underway. Investment options include complete 2-, 3- and 4-bedroom lodges, with mountain, stream and golf course views, or plots with a 2- year allowable building period. Prices of lodges range from R1 800 000 and the land from R800 000 to R1 000 000. Houses will be built in the local Free-State colonial style, with low-pitched metal roofs and sandstone bricks.
The golf course is being designed and developed by Golf Data, foremost golf developers in South Africa. It will be completed by the end of the year and playable by Easter 2007. Property owners will have membership of the golf club as well as a five year membership in the local conservancy and trout club, giving them access to nearby streams and rivers.
Members of the local community have been employed as workers and builders and once construction has been completed, the estate will have an ongoing development program to train local previously disadvantaged residents as caddies and golf course managers. For more info, call Page at (082) 335-6930.
