The holding of the annual National Science Week in the Free State this year from 13 – 20 May is said to lend more punch to the promotion of science and technology in the province.
The Week this year is to be presented for the first time in partnership between the Free State University, the Boyden Science Centre, the National Museum and the Free State National Botanical Gardens. As such also for the first time the relevance of science and the environment will be brought together, while strong emphasis is also to be placed on the role of entrepreneurship in technological development.
Science Week activities, exhibitions and open days are to be presented at the UFS, the National Museum, the Botanical Gardens, the Mangaung Fire Brigade Museum and the SA Airforce Base at Bloemspruit. Full programme details are still to be released.
